Ride Prerequisites PAPERWORK REQUIREMENTS You will need a New York State Learner's Permit in order to take lessons. The Learner's Permit must be obtained from the NY State Department of Motor Vehicles GEAR REQUIREMENTS We require all students to wear helmets, full-fingered gloves, long-sleeve shirt or jacket, long pants and boots that cover the ankles.
